advanced structural and pipework analysis

FS-WIND generates aerodynamic loading on framed structures created by FS2000. Loading due to wind and ice formation (coatings) are evaluated. Tower-Wind Case

  • User Defined Wind Profiles - Wind speed profiles can be defined as a function of elevation and direction.
  • Drag Coefficients - Drag coefficients may be specified by individual definition, global definition, definition as a function of Reynolds Number, or definition as a function of elevation.
  • Local Orientation - Drag coefficients may be defined relative to "Y" & "Z" directions of the element local co-ordinate system.
  • Ice Formation/Coatings - Ice formation thickness (or other coatings) may be individually specified for each element or defined as a function of elevation.
  • Hollow Section Contents - Contents density may be specified by individual definition for each element or defined globally.
  • All Section Types - Loading on non-circular hollow sections and solid sections is possible. Simply define the appropriate local direction drag coefficients. Enhance coefficients to account for added loading i.e. aerial dishes.
